Child support needs may change

Many Missouri parents know what it’s like to work around a child custody schedule. When two parents share time with a child, having the appropriate court order in place can decrease stress on both parents and children. Often, when the time comes to calculate child support, the amount of time each parent has a child under his or her roof is an important factor to consider.

Recently, superstar performing artist and mother of two boys Britney Spears feared she was on the verge of a mental breakdown. The stresses of life were compounded by the fact that her father has fallen seriously ill. Having suffered a similar breakdown in the past, Spears thought it best to be proactive about getting help.

Her two sons will stay with their father full time while their mom gets the help she needs. He is now asking the court to raise the amount of child support he collects, because the boys will be with him more often and, at least for the foreseeable future, full time. It is reported that he fully supports Britney’s recovery and is happy to have the boys while she is in treatment.

When a Missouri parent needs to establish, modify or enforce a child support order, he or she may feel overwhelmed. The legal process may seem confusing, and sometimes a parent needs a little help. Often, an experienced attorney can simplify the process and help a parent get the ball rolling to ensure that children get the benefit of the child support money paid for their care and well-being.
